OLB Dante Fowler, Jr.
Age: 20
Height: 6-3
Weight: 261

College Career: Former five-star recruit who lost 25 pounds while at Florida. Full-time starter his last two seasons and was used in multiple ways, playing inside and outside from both two- and three-point stances.  Good, but not elite production at the position, posting 25.5 TFLs and 12 sacks over his final two seasons.

Strengths: Scheme-versatile with good length and athleticism. Very fluid movements. Speed is evident on tape. Sets the edge with ease and has experience dropping into coverage. Can rush every gap. Doesn’t quit on plays.

Weaknesses: Tape is underwhelming. Production should be better, given his talent. Strength is a concern — when he’s blocked, he’s blocked. Gets out of control on his rushes sometimes, missing tackles.

Bears Outlook: Many think Fowler is worth a Top 10 pick, but I think that’s a reach. His tape doesn’t live up to the hype. Still, Fowler looks like he can be a very valuable complementary pass rusher, lining up all over the field. I’m not just not sure he’ll be a No. 1 pass rusher at the NFL level, which is why I wouldn’t use the No. 7 overall pick on him.
